Bryan Plinske began his boys tennis coaching career in 1996 when he took over the varsity program at Antioch Community High School. In 2006, he became the first boys varsity coach at Lakes Community High School. At the end of this season, Coach Plinske will have served 22 years as a varsity boys tennis coach for District 117. Coach Plinske was introduced to the game by his uncle, Doug Tolman - who coached at Elk Grove, in the mid-1980’s. He learned the sport though the Crystal Lake Park District and went on to play for Crystal Lake Central High School and McHenry County College. Coach Plinske is a long-time member of the Illinois High School Tennis Coaches Association (IHSTCA) and a member of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). He is also pursuing a Masters in Coaching from Adams State University. Coach Plinske believes in coaching the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of the game equally. He is very proud to have worked with hundreds of players, to have had a small hand in creating one of the premier tennis complexes in the midwest, and to serve the community through tennis summer camps and hosting the Peter R. Plinske Memorial Tennis Tournament.
