In the Eagles inaugural game of the new season played a good first half defensively and an equlaizing goal from a long shot by Hannah Morway. But the second showed how good a team Evanston can be as the Kits scored 4 goals in the second half prevailing at the end, 5-1.
Lakes played some good soocer despite the score with many chances to score but as has been the case in previous games of this season, costly turnovers in the defensive third of the field has given the opposition the chances to punish the Eagles. A great header goal by Riley Beggs off a well delivered corner by Hannah Morway kept the score close, 2-1, by halftime. The second half saw Deerfield get three more goals off untimely turnovers by the Eagles ending the game with a score of 5-1 in favor of the Warriors.
(Time Changed) The Eagles started the NLCC slate against Grayslake North. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the Knights prevailed 3-1. Lakes went down 1-0 in the first half and struggled to get into the game. Lakes played a much better second half creating numerous quality chances from corner kicks and aggressive play. But after getting the equalizer, the Knights were able to score two more to seal their win.
(Date Changed from 04-26-2018) Lakes struggled at first but Eagles €™ goalie, Molly Bakrins made some great saves to keep the 0-0 at the half. In the second half, the Eagles play was much improved as the Lakes got the first goal midway through the half off the foot Casey Moczynski. As the game was about to end, Casey scored another goal from a nice cross by Simone Lippmann to win the game 2-0.
On this early Saturday morning game the Eagles played a very good Stevenson team and held their own through some outstanding goalkeeping by Molly Bakrins and a great goal by Noelia Padilla. But Stevenson was able to tie the game just before the end of the first half and got another in the second half to get the victory.
(Rescheduled from 05-03-2018) Lakes prevailed in a see-saw game that saw a total of 8 goals in regulation. Lakes was able to win the game in penalty kicks as Eagle goalie, Molly Bakrins, made 3 saves and Lakes players converted on 4 of their kicks to Round Lake €™s 3.
The Egles may have played their best game of the year against one of the top teams on the state. But Loyola scored two early goals and despite the Lakes varsity creating a plethora of scoring chances could only get goal in the dying seconds of the game from Rylie Matchett the cut Loyola €™s lead in half ending the game 2-1 in the Ramblers favor.
